Case study · Our own product
Akantio POS: a point of sale for WooCommerce stores
A desktop point of sale that keeps a physical shop and its WooCommerce store on one catalogue, with card terminals and offline-verified licences.

The problem
Shops that sell both online and in store end up with two product lists, two stock counts and manual reconciliation. Existing WooCommerce POS plugins run in the browser and depend on a live connection at the till.
What we built
- A native desktop app built with Wails v3: a Go backend and a React and TypeScript interface in one executable, with a local SQLite database so the till keeps working when the connection drops.
- Two-way WooCommerce sync of products, stock and orders through the WooCommerce REST API.
- Card payments through Stripe Terminal and Revolut terminals.
- A licence server in Go with RS256-signed licences that the till verifies offline, device limits, key rotation, and an audit log of every licence change.
- Self-service checkout and billing with Stripe, and a customer portal for licences and devices.

The result
Akantio POS is live and sold to WooCommerce merchants, with documentation, a WordPress plugin and a public roadmap. Building and running it is how we know what production software really involves: licensing, payments, updates and support.
